How to Avoid Flashing Red Light

1.Reasons for the Printer’s Red Flashing Light

The flashing red light indicates that the sensor has detected an incorrect paper type and the printer has entered sleep mode.

2. Factory Reset and Run Automatic Label Identification

1. Models such as 241/BT, 242/BT, 243/BT, 245/BT and 249/BT series:

  1. Factory reset
    Insert the label and make sure it is straight and smooth. When the printer is on standby, press and hold the paper feed button for about 10 seconds. After the blue light flashes 4 times, release the paper feed button.

  2. Run automatic label identification (Labels separated by gaps)
    Insert the label and ensure it is straight and smooth. When the printer is in standby, press and hold the feed button until the indicator light blinks blue twice, then release the feed button.

  3. Run automatic label identification (Labels separated by black lines or marks)
    Insert the label and ensure it is straight and smooth. When the printer is in standby, press and hold the feed button until the indicator light blinks blue three times, then release the feed button.

2. Models such as D450/BT, D520/BT, D530/BT, 2410BT, 2411BT, A64M and PM64D series:

  1. Factory reset
    Insert the label and make sure it is straight and smooth. Turn off the printer, press and hold the Feed Button and turn on the printer at the same time, then release the Feed Button after the red light flashes 5 times.

  2. Run automatic label identification (Labels separated by gaps)
    Restart the printer and insert labels, making sure they are straight and smooth. While the printer is on standby (the indicator light should be blue), hold the Feed Button for about 3 seconds. Wait until the indicator light turns purple and release the Feed Button.

  3. Run automatic label identification (Labels separated by black lines or marks)
    Insert the label and make sure it is straight and smooth. Turn off the printer. Then, hold the Feed Button while turning on the printer. Wait until the red light turns blue, then immediately release the Feed Button.

3. Check Print Offset Value and Reset to 0

The gap or black mark offset should be kept at 0

3.3 Offset settings for the macOS desktop driver (make sure the parameter is set to 0)

4. Clean the printer sensor with alcohol, ensuring no residual adhesive or foreign objects obstruct it.
