The Reason Why Shipping Label Printer Automatically Pauses While Printing Labels

Info
If your printer stops printing the shipping label content suddenly in the middle of printing (the indicator light turns off from the purple printing state suddenly, then flashes red once and then turns back to a steady blue light), you can pay attention to the content below in the article.

1. Check the Label File

Please check whether there are areas with very high density and very dark colors (barcode/QR code) in the label file you are currently printing. If the printer prints a label and the print head prints to an area with high density and dark colors, the print head needs to increase the output power instantly, which will cause the power adapter to self-power off due to abnormal power, causing the printer to restart.
When the printer restarts, the currently printed label will automatically pause printing.

1.1 Reduce the Printing Density and Speed of the Printer

The following operations take the PM241-BT printer as an example. The same applies to other shipping label printers:
1.1.1 Windows Setting
If you use a printer data cable to connect to a Windows computer and have downloaded the printer driver, open the label directly on the browser/computer. Please go to the printer preferences to reduce the printer's print density and speed.
Please reduce the density and speed of your printer by half. If the density of your printer is 8 by default, please reduce it to 4, and the speed is 4 by default, please reduce it to 2.

If you use a printer connected to the Labelife software, please reduce the printer's print speed and print density as shown in the figure.
If necessary, you can select barcode mode to print your shipping label file.

1.1.2 Mac Setting
If you use a printer data cable to connect to a Windows computer and have downloaded the printer driver, open the label directly on the browser/computer. Please go to the printer features to reduce the printer's print darkness and speed.

Please reduce the darkness and speed of your printer to 2 or 1.

If you use a printer connected to the Labelife software, please reduce the printer's print speed and print density as shown in the figure.
If necessary, you can select barcode mode to print your shipping label file.

1.1.3 Mobile Labelife APP
If the printer is connected to the Labelife APP on your phone, please adjust the printer's printing speed and quality as shown in the figure:
Adjust the printing speed to 2 and the printing quality to 2

2. Check the Printer Power Adapter

Please check whether your printer power adapter is the original power adapter of our printer. The output specification is 24V-2.5A as shown in the figure:
If you are not using the original power adapter that came with the printer, please find and use the original power adapter to connect the printer.

3. Reset the Printer

3.1  Shipping Label Printer of Model without Paper Bin:

(PM241-BT/245/249-BT/344-WiFi/247/248/249-WiFi)

Button reset operation: Insert the label and make sure it is straight and smooth. Restart the printer, when the printer is in standby mode (fixed blue indicator light), press and hold the feed button until the blue light flashes 4 times, then release the feed button.

3.2 Printers with Paper Bin

D520(BT)/D450/D550/6xL(Pro)

Button reset operation: Close the printer cover tightly, turn off the printer, press and hold the printer's paper feed button, and press the power switch at the same time. The printer indicator light will start to flash red. Release the paper feed button immediately after the red light flashes 3 times.

If the Problem Still Persists

If the above steps do not solve the problem of your shipping label printer restarting and interrupting label printing.
Please provide the following information to our technical support email: bestservice2012@outlook.com
1. Photo of the power adapter specification parameters connected to the printer.

2. Screenshot of the printer's current firmware information (can be obtained through Labelelife PC software/Labelife mobile app).

3. A video of the printer restarting/interrupting label printing problem.
4. The order number and purchase time of the printer.
